CUMBERLAND — Troopers from the Cumberland barrack made 615 traffic stops on Interstate 68 at Haystack Mountain during the month of November, according to Lt. H.B. Martz, Cumberland barrack commander.
In addition, troopers assigned to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division initiated 86 stops on commercial vehicles in conjunction with completing 86 vehicle inspections. As a result, 10 commercial vehicles and three drivers were placed out of service by troopers.
Focused enforcement by state police stemmed from a series of tractor-trailer crashes and other mishaps that occurred on I-68 in the month of October.
