CUMBERLAND — Drivers of two vehicles involved in a head-on crash Monday evening at Industrial Boulevard and Wineow Street were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, Cumberland Police said.

Christopher Himmler, 55, and Gregory Kitzmiller, 21, both of Cumberland, were treated at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center after being taken there by Cumberland Fire Department ambulances dispatched to the 7 p.m. crash.

Police said investigation determined Himmler was operating a 2014 Toyota Tundra when he crossed the center median, entered oncoming traffic and then collided head-on with a small passenger vehicle operated by Kitzmiller.

The crash remains under investigation.

Police said Industrial Boulevard was shut down to traffic for an hour until vehicles and debris were removed from the scene.
