ACCIDENT — The victim of a two-vehicle crash Tuesday on U.S. Route 219 in Garrett County was identified as a 54-year-old Baltimore woman, Maryland State Police said Wednesday.
Margaret Stutzman, 54, was killed in the 9:54 a.m. crash that occurred when her northbound Chevrolet Cruze crossed the center line and struck a tractor-trailer head-on, causing her to be thrown from the vehicle, police said.
The driver of the rig, Gary Suder, 39, of Bedford, Pennsylvania, was not injured, police said.
The accident was investigated by the Maryland State Police Crash Team.
The state police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, the State Highway Administration and Northern Garrett Rescue Squad also responded following alert by the Garrett County 911 emergency center.
