CARPENDALE, W.Va. — Firefighters from nearly a dozen companies fought a house fire Tuesday afternoon at 112 S. Blue Jay Drive in Carpendale.

Firefighters were dispatched after the Mineral County 911 Center received a call about 2:10 p.m. 

First-arriving firefighters found flames shooting from the roof of the split-level structure.

The occupants escaped the home and there were no injuries.

The fire was reported out about 3 p.m.

The American Red Cross and Mountaineer Gas Co. also responded to the scene.
