CUMBERLAND — The Allegany Center of Lifelong Learning will kick off its fall season on Aug. 29 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in rooms 12-14 of the Continuing Education Building at Allegany College of Maryland, Willowbrook Road. The program is free and open to the public.
The topic will be “Allegany Unearthed: Coal in Western Maryland.”
The presentation of the most recent Mountain Ridge High School Research Methods Class will address the impacts of coal and coal mining in western Allegany County. Matthew Ravenscroft, the teacher responsible for the class, and some of the students will present the video they made and answer questions.
Light refreshments will be available after the presentation.
