CUMBERLAND — Noel Coward’s “Blithe Spirit” kicks off a six-performance run at Embassy Theatre Aug. 9.

“In this witty comedy, Charles Condomine is researching the occult for his next novel, so he invites Madam Arcati to a small dinner party for a séance. The psychic accidentally manifests the ghost of Charles’ first wife, Elvira. Only he can see her, much to the distress of his second wife, Ruth,” according to a synopsis of the show provided by the theater.

The play is directed by Jerard Puckett and stars Luann Lancaster, Robert Smith, Danise Whitlock, Lisa Castleman, Fred Robertson, Linda Julien and Faith Jule.

Performances are Aug. 9 and 10 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 11 at 2 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at Eventbrite.com. Prices will be reduced for seniors and students.
