Highland Arts Unlimited bringing Vienna Boys Choir to Church-McKee Arts Center

The Vienna Boys Choir performs at venues around the world.

KEYSER, W.Va. — Highland Arts Unlimited is sponsoring the Vienna Boys Choir’s stop in the region Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Church-McKee Arts Center on the campus of West Virginia University Potomac State College.

Manuel Huber, the most recent addition to the ranks of choirmaster of the vocal group, is an Italian with extensive experience as voice coach, choir director and music educator in a variety of positions throughout Europe.

“I love the work we do together, and especially how much the boys enjoy their music,” said Huber in a news release emailed to the Times-News. “My goal is to teach them the tools of the trade, to understand and feel music as best we can, and at the same time, see them grow up and come into their own.”

The vocal group has a reputation for excellence that spans the globe.

Admission for the upcoming concert is free to Highland Arts Unlimited members. Advance tickets are available at a discount over those purchased at the door. Area students under 18 will be admitted free and young children are free with a paying adult.

Advance tickets are available at Anderson’s Corner, Romney; Reed’s Drug Store, Cannon’s Ace Hardware and The Candlewyck, Keyser; the Allegany Arts Council in Cumberland or by calling 304-788-3066 or 304-788-9465.
