CUMBERLAND — A Discover Downtown Cumberland “Hometown Holiday” celebration, a day of open houses throughout the city’s central business district, is being planned for Dec. 14, with the event also open to businesses, retailers, restaurants, cafes and galleries in bordering neighborhoods.
The concept is to have a series of progressive open houses that will allow visitors and shoppers to travel from establishment to establishment that day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Each participant is asked to choose a time and to provide live music/entertainment and refreshments available to the public. The DDC will provide each participating entity with a set of raffle tickets. Each customer will receive one raffle ticket per person at each location that they can then take to the DDC tent and place in a raffle box. The more places visited, the more chances they have to win. A winning ticket will be chosen at the end of the night and the winner will receive a gift basket.
The event is replacing the annual Moonlight Madness shopping event.
Businesses that wish to take part should email Dave Love at firstname.lastname@example.org by Dec 1.
