CUMBERLAND — Opening on June 14, the Embassy Theatre presents “The Rocky Horror Show” for two weeks on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. This is the live stage musical by Richard O’Brien that was adapted into the cult midnight movie.
Hayden Davis, a senior at Allegany High School, directs and is portraying Frank-N-Furter. Some of his favorite roles include Pinocchio in “Shrek, Jr.” and The Artful Dodger in “Oliver!” In school, he is in chorus, show choir and drama club. He also attends Mountain City Center for the Arts in Frostburg, and enjoys doing voice acting, filming, photography and editing and helping with his mom’s animal rescue.
Music director Sawyer Jenkins, who also plays Riff Raff, started in theater in sixth grade. Among many other roles, he was seen at the Embassy as Sheldon in “Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells” and recently as Monsieur D’Arque in “Beauty and the Beast” at the Cumberland Theatre.
Choreographer William Price III began dancing at an early age. In college, he coached a dance team for four years. He also has choreographed or acted as dance captain locally for more than a dozen theatrical productions at Potomac State College and for Apple Alley Players and Front & Centre Stage. In 2014, he co-directed/choreographed with Natalie Fisher to bring “Chicago” to the Embassy Theater. He teaches hip hop, jazz/street jazz and musical theater classes and also offers private lessons.
Rounding out the cast are Brendon McCabe as Brad Majors, Tawney Jenkins as Janet Weiss, Whitney O’Haver as Magenta/Trixie, Hannah Anderson as Columbia, Ryan Marvin as Rocky, Kirk Squires as Eddie/Dr. Scott and Connor Ward as narrator and stage manager.
