LITTLE ORLEANS — A woman sustained minor injuries Sunday when her car caught fire at 12:26 a.m. Sunday near Mile Marker 66, Little Orleans, on Interstate 68.

The woman, identified as Karen Moxley, no address given, sustained minor burns to her right hand, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office.

The fire marshal said a vehicle was discovered in woods just off I-68 by a passer-by. The vehicle’s occupant was found along the roadway and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The fire marshal said the burns were sustained while the vehicle was moving and before it came to rest in the woods.

Little Orleans Volunteer Fire Department responded. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the fire marshal’s office and the vehicle crash is being investigated by Maryland State Police.
