HAMBLETON, W.Va. — Tucker County used five first quarter three-pointers to jump out to a lead over Southern Thursday evening and would keep the Rams at arm’s length for the remaining three quarters of a 61-47 win.

Eric Wamsley had four of the Mountain Lions seven total three-pointers and led the squad with 18 points. Justin Crosten scored 14 and Darius Dillard and L.J. Gravelle each had 10.

Tucker County sat at the No. 1 slot in the West Virginia Class A poll and received five first place votes.

Jordan Pacella scored 13 points and Dan Shockey added 11. Drew Proudfoot finished with 11 rebounds and nine points.

The Rams found themselves down 10 after the first quarter, and trailed by 12 at halftime. Southern got as close as eight midway through the third quarter, but Tucker entered the final quarter ahead 17 points.

The Mountain Lions also took the jayvee game.

Southern (10-9) plays a make-up game with Preston tonight at 7:30. The game was originally scheduled for last night.
