I am writing to let you know we still have some great young people in this world of turmoil and strife. Namely, Jeremy Warnick, graphics manager for the Cumberland Times-News.
I opened the car door next to Times-News parklet and fell face down on the bricks. My husband was driving in traffic and did not know I had fallen.
I tried to sit up and blood was running down my face. I looked up, and this kind young man asked if he could help this 82-year-old to her feet.
He also asked if he could get my purse. He checked my face to see where I was bleeding, it was a pretty big bump and wanted to get help if needed which I declined.
When I stood up and realized I had not broken any bones, in fact, I felt I could walk to see the beautiful flowers on Baltimore Street. My husband was to meet me on Centre Street.
Jeremy insisted on walking me to meet my husband, which he did holding my arm. It did my heart good to realize we only hear about the bad things but never hear much of the caring, mannerly young people in our town.
Thank you again Jeremy, may God bless you and our future generations.
