One only has to scan through the Slice of Life section of the Times-News each Friday to recognize that there is a great deal of local musical talent in our Tri-State region.

In particular, this year’s September Singers concert on Aug. 25 will be featuring several works written, composed, and arranged by several local musicians.

You may recognize some of the names of these talented artists from our area: Marshall Caton, Eric Kitchen, Pianist Carole Loar, Dick Miller, director George A. Ott, George H. Ott (the director’s father) and Laurel Underwood.

So, in addition to many well known popular songs, patriotic pieces and spiritual selections, this year’s concert will have a definite local connection.
