CLARKSBURG - Petersburg claimed a total of 10 championships and three second place finishes as the Vikings dominated play in the West Virginia AA/A Regional meet held over the weekend.

The doubles brackets were played Monday after being rained out on Saturday. The Petersburg girls finished with a total of six championships in seven possible groups. They finished second in the seventh.

Emily Harman and Courtney Kisamore won the No. 1 doubles bracket, and Jessica Kopple and Jo Anna Rodgers won the No. 2. Ashley Mongold and Michaela Boyce got the No. 3 championship.

Harman, Kisamore and Kopple all won singles titles on Friday.

The Vikings boys won two of the three doubles brackets on Monday with Keyser taking the other.

Neil Garton and Matt Alt pulled out the win in the No. 2 doubles, and Brandon Bates and Will George won the No. 3.

Keyser's Andy Miller and Caleb Jones were victorious in the No. 1 doubles match. The Golden Tornado will also be sending the pair of Bri Phillips and Caitlin Dorsey to the state tournament in the No. 1 doubles, after Phillips qualified in the singles.

The Frankfort girls finished with the second-highest team score in the tournament. They will send Kelli Scott and Aliesha Porter to the state tourney after Scoot qualified in the singles on Friday.

The West Virginia AA/A State Tournament will begin Thursday at the Kanawha City Community Center in Charleston.
