GOODYEAR, ARIZ. - Potomac State climbed another two places Friday to finish the NJCAA Division II National Golf Tournament in 12th place, but the field suffered through its third straight day at Palm Valley Golf Course.

After three days of action only three golfers were at par or better, but all three fell Friday so that all 127 finished above par.

Marc Rice of Tyler (Texas) Junior College finished the fourth day with a 2-over 74 and posted the tourney's lowest score with a 289, or 1-over par. Rice's finish, along with Blaine Weiterman (+4) and David Poscente (+5) grabbing top-10 spots, led the Apaches to the team championship.

Two Catamounts shot a 4-under 70 on Friday to finish in the top 20. Brendan Dillon and Brian Affleck shot 299 over the four days to end at 11 strokes over par, just 10 strokes off the winner's score.

Tyler finished 20-over par as a team, three strokes better than Darton (Ga.) in second and 13 strokes ahead of Mesa (Ariz.). The Catamounts finished the tournament at plus-79, good for 12th. More information can be found on today's scoreboard page.
