HAMMOND, Ind. — Richard L. Donahoe, 64, of Hammond, formerly of Beans Cove, Pa., died April 2, 2008, at his residence, as the result of a heart attack.

He was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Beans Cove, son of the late George and Vernelda (Bennett) Donahoe. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger, of Beans Cove.

He is survived by six brothers, Grover and wife Doris, of Albuquerque, N.M., F. Hillary (Smoke) and wife Sharon, of Centerville, Pa., Kenny and wife Ida, of Frederick, Elmer and wife Karen, of Chaney-sville, Pa., Carl and wife Rita, of Cumberland, and Ronnie and wife Lawrene, of Beaufort, S.C.; three sisters, Mary Eleanor Ryan, of Cumberland, Eileen Hunter and husband Jim, of Bedford, Pa., and Barbara Fry and husband George, of Hancock; sister-in-law, Patty Donahoe, of Beans Cove; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He served in the U.S. Army for five years.

Mr. Donahoe worked in construction, was an avid NASCAR fan, loved nature and hiked the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia.
