WALKERSVILLE - Robert William Kight, 67, of Walkersville, died on Saturday Nov. 10, 2007, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Dorothy D. Kight.

Born Oct. 27, 1940, in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late Thomas and Lola Harper Kight.

He worked for the Department of Energy for over 32 years as a computer specialist and retired in 1997. He was the AMVETS Executive Director for 14 years for the Department of Maryland and was AMVET of the year 2006-2007.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Rusty Kight and his wife Laura, of Frederick, and Bryan Kight and his wife Michelle, of Hagerstown; grandsons, Russell, Tyler and Ryan Kight; granddaughters, Melody, Bailey and Hannah Kight; one brother, Gordon Kight and his wife Anna Lee, of Frostburg; two sisters, Jean Beaman, of Frostburg, and Arlene Phiffer and her husband Herbie, of Florida; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kight was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Kight.

Visitation will be held on Thursday Nov. 15, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Tim May officiating.

Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
