OAKLAND - Jason Ashby and Tommie Reams both hit home runs, and Southern survived a six-run fourth inning by Frankfort to win Wednesday during a AMAC contest in Oakland.

Ashby would finish perfect in four at-bats hitting a solo home run in the fifth, and three singles to drive in a total of three runs. Reams added a three-run homer in the third and singled for his second hit. Ryan Sweitzer had two singles and one RBI, and Nick Tressler had two singles and scored twice.

Derek Taylor struck out eight and allowed two earned runs in the win.

The Rams scored in every inning, getting one run in each of the first two innings, and tacking on three to make it 5-0 after the third. Southern then scored twice in innings four, five and six to finish up play.

Dylan Norris hit a two-run double in the fourth and Ryan Shields had two RBIs and a single. Brian Jewel also had a two-run single.

Southern (7-5, 4-5 AMAC) plays a doubleheader at home with Keyser today at 3:30.
