SHORT GAP - Jeff Conley threw a three-hit shutout Monday evening to push the Fort Ashby Lions to a 9-0 win over Ridgeley VFW/First Peoples at Frankfort High School.

Conley fanned nine batters in the seven innings, and allowed three scattered singles. At the plate, he drove in two runs with one single. Cruiz Shepherd and Zach Bradfield each posted two singles, and Aaron Lehman added an RBI single.

The Lions started quickly with four runs in the first inning, and picked up a fifth in the third. Their final four runs were scored in the fifth.

Ryan Bobo was cited for his defense at shortstop, including a diving stop in the sixth.

Fort Ashby (2-0) will play the Keyser Yankees Wednesday at Holler Field. Ridgeley (1-1) will play at East Hardy on Wednesday.
