ESSEX — James Nugent scored three goals and assisted on two as nationally-ranked CCBC-Essex rolled over the Allegany College of Maryland Trojans, 11-0, in a Maryland JUCO Conference match on Monday at Essex.

The Knights, ranked seventh in the NJCAA Division III poll, scored seven goals in the frst 45 minutes and added four after the break.

David Cash, Eddie Yah and Ross Koroteckyj added two goals each, while Cubay Wilson and Joseph Malstrom. Contributing assists along with Nugent, were Wilson, Malstrom and Koroteckyj. Five of the goals were unassisted.

Essex led 29-12 in shots on goal and had a 3-1 edge in corner kicks. Tyler Miller had 16 saves for Allegany. Vincent Darino stopped three shots for Eassex.

Allegany (4-6 overall, 2-6 Maryland JUCO) will host Potomac State on Monday at 3 p.m..

Altoona 3, FSU 2

FROSTBURG — Frostburg State fell to Penn State Altoona in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action Tuesday evening.

Frostburg scored first when freshman Shawn Baker found the back of the net off a pass from classmate Brian Davis at the 35-minute mark of the first half. The Lions answered 15 seconds on Joe DeSteffano’s goal off an assist from Ben Oswald.

In the second half, freshman Dillon Muise again gave the Bobcats the lead when he connected with Davis at 65:49.

Altoona’s Corey Suter scored the game-tying and game-winning goals with two minutes of each other at 74:13 and 76:06.

Junior Bobcat goalkeeper Stephen Cavallo (Charlotte, N.C./East Lincoln) posted two saves in the loss. The Lions goalie Chris Bolea stopped one shot in the win for Penn State Altoona.

The Bobcats (4-5-1 overall, 0-2 AMCC) led the Lions in both shots (14-6) and corner kicks (3-0).

Frostburg State travels to Buffalo, N.Y., Saturday to take on Medaille beginning at 8 p.m.
