Frankfort girls blank Petersburg 6-0

SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Kaitlyn Crist scored the hat trick with two goals in the first half and one in the second to lead Frankfort to a 6-0 win over Petersburg Thursday in high school girls soccer play at Frankfort.

Crist scored her first two goals at 37:30 and 29:58 of the first half, before Rachel Noah scored two herself, at 25:50 and 20:19, to give Frankfort a 4-0 halftime lead. Halley Smith then scored at 37:02 before Crist scored at 23:15 to put the eventual final at 6-0.

In goal, Taryn Ackerman had two saves in the first half and Abbi Atkinson two in the second half for the Falcons. Petersburg keeper Tiffany Paugh had 20 saves.

Frankfort will play Tuesday, 7 p.m., at Berkeley Springs. Petersburg will host Bishop Walsh Wednesday.
