CUMBERLAND — Dan Strietbeck had four hits, including a home run, and struck out 11 during Mountain Ridge’s 12-4 win over Fort Hill in Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference baseball at Washington Middle School.
On the mound, the senior allowed seven hits and four runs along with one walk over seven innings. He allowed a pair of runs in the third and one each in the fifth and seventh.
At the plate, Strietbeck hit a solo home run, doubled twice, added a single and had two RBIs to lead the Miners’ 12-hit attack.
Jacob Kyle also hit a home run for Mountain Ridge, connecting on a three-run shot as the Miners scored seven times in the top of the seventh. Dylan Redinger contributed a RBI double, Josh Mills hit a double and scored a run and Josh Delaney had a double and a single.
Fort Hill got a RBI double from Zach Steckman and a RBI single from Travis Miller in the third. Brandon Stotler hit a triple in the seventh inning, and Colton Dicks provided the Sentinels with a RBI single.
Mountain Ridge (2-0, 2-0) plays at Bishop Walsh on Saturday at noon. Fort Hill (0-1, 0-1) hosts Allegany today.

CUMBERLAND — Adam DuVall pitched a complete game, striking out five and allowing no earned runs during a 5-1 win over Mountain Ridge in junior varsity baseball action at Fort Hill.
Devan Erichson had three hits, a solo home run, a double and a single, and K-Shawn Powell added a double for the Sentinels. Duvall had a single of his own, while limiting Mountain Ridge to two singles.
Fort Hill (1-0) plays again today, 4:30, at Allegany.
