Allegany alums Lyndsey Evix, left, and Shanel Stott pose after guiding the University of Maryland Baltimore County to an American East softball tournament championship on Saturday afternoon in Baltimore. Stott hit a three-run home run and was named to the All-Tournament team, and Evix added an RBI double in the 9-3 win over Albany. The conference title is UMBC’s fourth straight and earns the Retrievers an automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA softball championships.
