LAVALE — Teresa Allgauer Mason, 96, a former resident of Reedsville, Preston County, W.Va., passed away Sunday, May 14, in LaVale at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, William and Hester Alice Neely, with whom she had resided for the past 10 years.

Born Nov. 19, 1909, in Kingwood, she was the daughter of the late Herman Allgauer and Anna (Schmidle) Allgauer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Paul Mason and Sgt. 1st Class John Mason; and by two brothers, George and Arthur Allgauer; and one sister, Mary (Allgauer) Reed.

She was a charter member of the Mill Chapel United Brethren Church and member of the Masontown Gold Star Mothers and most of her life, she was locally known for her prolific truck gardens.

Also surviving are two sons, Ronald and wife Kathryn Mason, Marysville, Ohio, William Mason and wife Constance, Morehead City, N.C.; and daughter Teresa Campbell and husband Les, Anderson, S.C., and very special family member, Josephine Shumaker, Kingwood; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Morgan Funeral Home of Reedsville on Tuesday, May 16 from 2 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 17 at 11 a.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Betty Jones officiating.

Internment will follow in the Morgan Memorial Park in Reedsville.
