Training held for eight new Red Cross volunteers

PETERSBURG — Red Cross training was held recently with eight volunteers joining the Red Cross team in the tri-county area.

Fulfilling Our Mission and Mass Care, introductory classes for Red Cross volunteers, were presented to the 18 volunteers by Mickey Johnson, Disaster Services director for the Eastern Panhandle Chapter of ARC. He was assisted by Samuel Bunner, director of ARC Health and Safety Services for the Eastern Panhandle.

Identification photos were taken before the training for all those ARC volunteers needing identification tags. After the training, the new volunteers also received their photo IDs.

New Hardy County ARC volunteers are Judy Moyer, Mary Hill, Nancy Hill, Angela Heare, Gregory Greenwalt, Casandra and Scott Greenwalt. Cynthia Wood is the new Pendleton County ARC volunteer.
