CHARLESTON, W.Va. — These anglers, who live in the circulation area of the Cumberland Times-News, were recently honored by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources for catching trophy fish.
Bluegill — Justin Shillingburg and Kristina Shillingburg, both of New Creek, each caught a 10-inch bluegill from a private pond in Mineral County.
Brook trout — Daniel Mayle, Petersburg, 3.5 pounds from North Fork of South Branch of Potomac; Elliott Harper, Brandywine, 1.5, South Fork of South Branch of Potomac.
Brown trout — Michael Saville, Wiley Ford, 4.91 pounds from South Branch of Potomac.
Carp — Floyd Benson, Cumberland, Md., 39 inches, South Branch of Potomac.
Golden rainbow trout — Tony Rohrbaugh, Petersburg, 21.5 inches, North Fork of South Branch of Potomac.
Largemouth bass — John Shillingburg, New Creek, 5.65 pounds, private pond in Mineral County.
Rainbow trout — Chadwick Smith, Baker, 7.44 pounds and 9.56 pounds, South Branch of Potomac; Parker Riley, Fort Ashby, 4.31, private pond Grant County.
