MCHENRY — Two people were injured in a Saturday afternoon vehicle accident that snapped a utility pole on state Route 42 at Hoyes Road, according to Maryland State Police.

Phillip and Tammy Cecchini, both 32, of Oliver, Pa., were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., following the accident.

Phillip Cecchini was driving a Ford pickup truck on northbound Route 42 when the vehicle came out of a curve to the left and reportedly crossed the southbound lane of Route 42 onto the soft shoulder.

The vehicle struck and snapped a utility pole and overturned. Tammy Cecchini was ejected from the vehicle onto the roadway.

Electricity to the local area was interrupted as a result of the accident.

Responding to the scene of the accident were Deep Creek and Friendsville fire departments and Northern Garrett Rescue Squad. Conditions of the injured were not available.
