FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - William "Bill" A. Bowman Jr., 57, of Falling Waters, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at City Hospital.

Born Oct. 8, 1950, in Flintstone, Md., he was the son of Betty Jane Fletcher Bowman of Cumberland, Md., and the late William A. Bowman Sr.

He was retired from General Motors, a member of the U.A.W. and Martinsburg Lodge 120, Loyal Order of Moose.

He was well known in the area with Bowman Racing, Limited Late Model Class, owning car 31.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tina Lane Bowman; seven children, B.J. Forquer and husband Robert, Betty Wise and husband Kenny and Christina Bowman, all of Falling Waters, Misty Weisenburg and husband Mark of Hedgesville, April Bowers and husband Phil of Williamsport, Md., John Cuddy III and Patrick Cuddy, both of Falling Waters; six grandsons; two granddaughters; and one sister, Donna Weltman and husband Terry of Cumberland.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Dakota "Cody" Bowman.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Harmony United Methodist Church with Dr. Ray Roberson officiating.

Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of William A. Bowman Jr. to Eastern Panhandle Community Federal Credit Union, 36 GM Access Road, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
